Classes

Last updated 24 days ago

In Calamity, your character's class is determined by the type of weapon you equip, rather than a pre-game choice. This system allows for dynamic and flexible character progression. Currently, there are three main classes: Warrior, Archer, and Mage. Each class comes with unique weapons and corresponding skill sets, with plans to introduce three additional classes in future updates.

Classes and Weapons

Warrior

  • Two-Handed Swords: Offering a mix of powerful single-target damage and area-of-effect (AoE) attacks.

  • Two-Handed Axes: Bloodthirsty weapons focused on high damage output with bleed effects and vampirism.

Archer

  • Bows: Allowing for rapid and accurate attacks from a distance, with the ability to summon a boar companion.

  • Crossbows: Powerful and piercing, dealing substantial single-target and AoE damage.

Mage

  • Staffs: Channel the power of frost magic, enabling slow and crowd-control spells.

  • Magic Swords: Unleash the might of fire, combining strong damage spells with fire damage-over-time (DoT) effects.

Class-Specific Experience

Each class has its own unique experience pool. This means you can level up all three classes—Warrior, Archer, and Mage—within a single character by using their respective weapons.

Compendium

The Compendium can be accessed through the Main Menu.

It provides a complete overview of all active and passive skills available in the game, including those tied to each class and gear piece.

Use it to plan your builds, compare abilities, and discover synergies between skills and equipment.

Leveling Up

As you kill enemies, you will gain experience points (XP) specific to the weapon you are using. This experience will contribute to leveling up the corresponding class of your character.

Attribute Distribution

Upon leveling up, your primary stats will automatically increase. The distribution of these stats varies by class, prioritizing attributes essential to the class's combat style.
